Perhaps the most popular club event is the Fall Turkey Shoots, held each Sunday at the range from 10 am to 2 pm starting in late September and running through the end of October. Events include .22 rifle at a mechanical silhouette target; a shotgun “card shoot”; clay pigeon (skeet); and hunting rifle 100-yard benchrest and offhand. The entry fee is $2 per event, or $3 for two. Prizes include frozen turkeys, hams, chickens, and pork roasts. The snack shack by the rifle range offers coffee, soda, donuts, hot dogs and burgers for nominal charges. The Turkey Shoots, which provide funding for the club, are open to the public as well as Association members.
The Summer .22 Shoots are held every other Wednesday evening at 6 PM open to the public from the end of May through early September at the rifle range. Events include iron sight and scope rifle at 50 feet offhand, 100 yards benchrest, and 50 feet novelty, plus pistol offhand at 50 feet. Fee is $5 for the evening. These are fun shoots, .22 firearms only, and no particular level of shooting skill is required in order for members to participate and enjoy. At the end of the summer ribbons and/or small prizes are awarded to the first- through third- place winners of each event.
After a hiatus of a number of years, the Association again hosted the Lincoln County Rifle Club for an Interclub Shoot, which was held on September 24th, 2006. Events included offhand .22 and big-bore pistol at 50 feet; big-bore rifle at 100 yards, military rifle, .22 rifle offhand, bench-rest varmint (smallest group), and a skeet competition. It was lots of fun for both clubs (but those LCRC sharpshooters are tough to beat!) another shoot was held on June 10, 2007 at the Lincoln County Range. The next inter club shoot is scheduled for June 8th, 2008 at Boothbay.
