Ranges are closed February and have limited hours in April: 10am to 5pm.
Perhaps the most popular club events are the Fall "Turkey Shoots", held each Sunday at the range from 10 am to 2 pm starting Sunday September 24th and running into November. Events, where competitors shoot at targets not live turkeys, include .22 rifle at a mechanical silhouette target; a shotgun “card shoot”; clay pigeon (skeet); and hunting rifle 100-yard benchrest and offhand. We'll also hold hand gun events if there are enough competitors. The entry fee is $2 per event, or $3 for two. Prizes include frozen turkeys, hams, chickens, and pork roasts. The snack shack by the rifle range offers coffee, soda, donuts, hot dogs and burgers for nominal charges. The Turkey Shoots, which help provide funding for the association, are open to the public as well and shooters of all ages are cordially invited to participate. For more information call Barry Gibson at 633-5929.
Turkey Shoots normally run from the last Sunday in September through the first Sunday in November.Other ranges are closed during the shoots.
